About Us

The Makeda Collective is a collaborative network of recovery-aligned professionals: including clinical consultants, IOP programs, licensed therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, mentors, and wellness providers. We coordinate across disciplines to ensure each client receives personalized, integrated support that reflects her unique recovery goals.

Fawna Asfaw, CADC, CLC
Director

I’m so grateful you’re here. I’ve dedicated my career to making a difference in the field of recovery; as a CADC Substance Abuse Counselor, Author, Master Certified Life Coach and Private Case Manager. I've spent years on the front lines supporting women as they navigate the challenges of early sobriety, mental health, and the complex work of rebuilding a life worth living.

I founded The Makeda Collective because I deeply understand the importance of having a supportive, integrated plan in place that addresses real-life needs and goals - while managing sobriety, mental health, housing, education, relationships and work. And I believe this support shouldn’t feel punitive, it should feel empowering. My focus is on helping women discover their own strength and agency in recovery, creating support that is individualized, compassionate and sustainable.

One of the greatest assets I bring to this work is the world-class professional network I’ve built over years in the field. I don’t just know a provider, I know the right providers. I leverage these relationships on behalf of our clients to ensure they have access to the best care possible, carefully matched to their needs and values.

At The Makeda Collective, our mission is simple: to empower women in recovery to build meaningful and empowered lives. My hope is that no woman will have to navigate this journey alone and that together, we can make recovery not just possible but transformative.

Franchesca Gordon, LMFT  Clinical Consultant

I’m honored to serve as the Clinical Consultant for Makeda Collective and House, a women’s program grounded in culture, respect and integrity.

The Collective and House are about more than just sobriety, it is a place where healing is nurtured, voices are honored and each woman is supported in reclaiming her agency. Here, we recognize that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Each client arrives with their own story, their own resilience and their own goals. Our role is to walk alongside each one, not in front, with compassion, accountability and care.

As a clinician, I bring a trauma-informed lens to our work, always centering the dignity of each client we serve. We strive to create a culture where respect isn’t just a value, it’s a daily practice. A culture where boundaries, identity and lived experience are honored. A culture where integrity is reflected in how we speak, how we hold space and how we show up.

Our goal is not just sobriety, it’s wholeness. We’re here to support women in developing the tools, confidence and structure to build lives they want to live, lives led by their own choices, their own voices and their own healing.

If you are a client, resident, a loved one or part of the broader circle supporting recovery, know this: you are seen, you are valued and you are not alone.
